About

Lance is an American voice actor trained at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. Wisconsin, Iowa, Nijmegen, San Francisco, Glasgow, and now London — Lance has lived in many places. That path has built a deep well of cultural experience, interactions, and adjustments to draw on — whatever the part calls for: calm and competent, caring and sincere, deadpan or in-your-face ribbing energy.

His specialty is bringing warmth and professionalism and, as needed, cheeky energy — walking the line between serious and silly. He can also drive on both sides of the road, convert F to C and back, tell you the American or British equivalent of that word you've never heard before, and sometimes tell you why we say things the way we do.

FAQ

Common questions

How do I work with you?

Get in touch — Call or message my agents, or contact me directly via the contact form. Tell me as much as you can about your project: the genre (commercial, video game, corporate narration, animation, explainer, IVR/voicemail, e-learning, audio guide, etc.), roughly how long it is, where and for how long it'll be used, and your budget if you have one in mind. If you already have a script draft, send it over and I'll record a custom sample.

Quote — Based on the details you've given me, I'll send you a quote and a sample recording of your script.

Contract — If we agree to work together, I'll send over my standard contract to sign. You can then send me the finalised script, along with any references or recording instructions. Please make sure the script is final — changes after I've recorded may be subject to additional charges.

Recording — If you'd like to direct me live while I record, we'll find a time and I'll book you in. Otherwise I'll record on my own time and send the finished file within our agreed timeframe.

Wrapping up — If revisions are needed, we work on them until you're happy. Once you are, I'll send an invoice, payable by bank transfer within 30 days.

Returning — You're welcome back any time for further recordings.

What file formats do you supply?

I usually deliver WAV files at 48kHz/24-bit. If you need something different, just let me know.

How quickly do you deliver?

Usually within 48 hours. If you need it quicker than that, let me know — I can often manage 24 hours, or even same-day if you're really in a hurry.

How much does it cost?

This depends on a lot of factors — the genre and length of the script, and where and for how long the recording will be used. Get in touch and I'll give you an accurate quote.

Do you offer revisions?

If you're not happy with the recording, I'll provide retakes until we get it right — those are always included in the quote. If the script or brief changes after I've recorded, retakes are subject to additional charges.

Can I direct you while you record?

Absolutely — live-directed sessions are my preferred way of working. You can direct me by phone, Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet, or platforms like Source Connect or Cleanfeed.

What accents do you work in?

I was born in the Upper Midwest/Great Lakes region, in the state of Wisconsin, and I can still put on that accent. After years living in California and the UK, though, my accent has settled into a much more region-free General American. I've recorded in Boston, NYC, Texas, Californian, general Southern US, and RP accents.

How do I pay you?

Bank transfer (UK or USA) or Wise are my preferred methods. PayPal is also possible, but it may incur a fee, so we can discuss that as needed.
